Friday, June 26th at 7PM, at the Grey Bruce Health Unit, 101 17th Street East, Owen Sound, a screening of "Highway of Tears," a movie about the missing or murdered women along a 724 kilometer stretch of highway in northern British Columbia. Learn about the effects of generational poverty, residential schools, systemic violence, and high unemployment rates on First Nation reserves and how they tie in with the missing and murdered women in the Highway of Tears cases. Aboriginal women are considered abject victims of violence. Now find out what First Nation leaders are doing to try and swing the pendulum in the other direction."
Presented by community organizations including Canadian Mental Health Association, Great Lakes Metis Council, the Men's Program, Metis Nation of Ontario, M'Wikwedong, Tears for Justice, Violence Prevention Grey Bruce, Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey, and The Women's Centre Grey and Bruce Inc.

Saturday June 27th, 9:30-4:30, at the Woodford Community Hall, 107 Woodford Crescent, come out to "Awakening Our Heart," a one day workshop that will engage you in personal transformation so that you can enact your love for our world in crisis. Facilitator Sally Ludwig, of Transition Guelph, and co-facilitator Nathan Carey will share the Work that Reconnects, a series of group exploration exercises using sound, drawing, visualization, reflection and conversation, inspired by eco-philosopher and activist Joanna Macy.
Cost by gift/donation, pay within your means. Please ask about volunteer exchanges. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Bring your own lunch. Coffee/Tea provided.

Sunday, June 28th at 7PM come see the Georgian Bay Folk Society's Youth Discoveries Retrospective at the TD Harbour Nights show by the inner harbour at Owen Sound's Visitor Centre, 1155 1st Avenue West. Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket to sit on. In the event of rain, the concert may be moved indoors to the Owen Sound Legion auditorium, at 1450 2nd Avenue West. A pay what you can event.


Wednesday, July 1st, 12 noon 'til 11:30PM at Kelso Beach Park join The Sultans of String, Chris McKhool, and Our Shotgun Wedding as they host the celebrations of Canada Day. Come experience music and entertainment and the area's premier fireworks show over the outer harbour.
