The Ginger Press is pleased to announce the arrival of the Fall Book Season with five new local book launches in nine days:

At 7:00 pm on Tuesday September 29, poets Lenore Keeshig (author, Running on the March Wind - $18) and Rob Rolfe (author, Hard Times - $18) will be reading from and signing their new books at a double launch at The Ginger Press.

At 7:00 pm on Wednesday September 30, retiring Owen Sound poet laureate Terry Burns will be reading from and signing her new poetry collection the quality of light ($18.95) at The Roxy.

At 7:00 pm on Thursday October 1, former Owen Sounder Claudia Staines will be reading from and signing copies of her new book, Goof, Carpetbag Steak and Divinity: A Memoir with Recipes ($24.95) at The Ginger Press.

At 7:00 pm on Wednesday October 7, Andrew Armitage will be reading from and signing copies of his new book Vanishing: Lost Places of Grey and Bruce($24.95) at The Roxy.

"We are experiencing a remarkable upsurge in local books," says publisher Maryann Thomas. "The diversity of local books being launched over the next couple of weeks is really quite remarkable, especially for a community this size. From poetry to history and a cookbook, too, we are very fortunate to have some very fine writers presenting a wide range of excellent books. Words-on-paper books are alive and well in Owen Sound!"
