Grey Bruce Health Services is reminding all artists that the deadline for submissions to the corporation's first juried art show is September 30th. This project was launched on Canada Day, and the goal is to select artwork for installation at all six GBHS hospitals for one year in celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary.

Grey and Bruce is home to many excellent artists, some of whom have already submitted their work. GBHS is encouraging  all artists to help brighten the hallways of our hospitals and contribute to a healing environment for patients and families. A commemorative booklet will be created of the work selected for installation, and the art will be on display for the thousands of patients, visitors and staff who go through the six GBHS hospitals every year.

To enter a completed piece, please e-mail an image of the artwork, a 150-word reflection of your Canadian moment, and your contact information to [email protected] by Saturday, September 30. The jury will be meeting in early October to select the work.

A variety of art mediums are being accepted including acrylic, oil, watercolour, pencil, pastel, charcoal, photography, mixed media and wood. The preference for the size of artwork is a minimum of 20 inches wide by 28 inches high, and a maximum of 48 inches high by 48 inches wide. The full submission criteria are here.
