artisan marketThe Art Map & Food Map will host the second annual Beaver Valley Handmade Artisan Market at Kimberley Hall in Kimberley, Ontario on Sunday, November 12.

This is your chance to support local businesses in the beautiful Beaver Valley and get an early start on your Christmas gift list. Come and shop for great one-of-a-kind art and treats, handmade, painted or prepared by local artists and culinary artisans.

The show will display 14 local artists, artisans and food producers on the upper level with great gift ideas, art and cards, food and delicious jams, sauces and condiments for the holidays.

A first for this year's event, is the "Sweets and Treats" room on the main level with seasonal goodies.

For a more substantial snack or lunch, delicious prepared turkey dinner empanadas, South American pastry turnovers stuffed with turkey, dressing, potatoes, vegetables and gravy served with cranberry sauce on the side, hot apple cider and hot chocolate also will be available.

"Last year's event was such a big success, we just had to do it again," said Barbara Pearn, one of the organizers. "We have just the right mix of fine art and fine food and it seems to happen at just the right time of year," she added.

In fact, the event marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season falling on the first day after Remembrance Day in 2017.

Doors will open at 10 am and the event lasts until 3 pm. Free hourly draws and music will keep the festive mood alive all day.

The Art Map & Food Map is a handy guide to artists, studios, galleries, restaurants and specialty food shops in Bruce Grey Simcoe. It is published once a year in the Spring but remains in circulation year-round.
