Doors Open Ontario is a province wide celebration of community heritage that offers access, enhances awareness, and encourages excitement about our heritage. Doors Open provides residents and visitors a like a unique opportunity to explore and enjoy sometimes hidden and always interesting places within our community - all free of charge. This year the regular Doors Open Owen Sound event is expanding to include a visual art exhibit.

Coordinator Jennifer Hicks explains, "I'm thrilled that the Doors Open Owen Sound event has welcomed our participation! Art focused on heritage and place history informs us of the past which gives us an opportunity to broaden ourselves in the present. It's wonderful that our talented artists have teamed up with Owen Sound non profits because community art can provide a platform to highlight often overlooked considerations and gives us a way to see ourselves in a greater context socially and psychologically."
