doors open artCitizens from across Owen Sound are collaborating with local artists to explore aspects of this place we called home in an upcoming public art exhibit.

With Doors Open Ontario in full swing in communities across the province, our own Owen Sound Doors Open tour has added an exhibit on doors to the tour set for Saturday, June 1.

The Doors Open Exhibit involves 7 local artists and 5 community organizations collaborating to paint scenes on doors which will be displayed at various heritage buildings during the Doors Open Owen Sound tour. City staff have assisted so the painted doors can be displayed at some of the 21 heritage buildings on this year's tour.

Artist Jennifer Hicks teamed up with Owen Sound Forest School to creatively represent local food on their door donated by Habitat for Humanity Restore. The organizer is thrilled with the voluntary effort all around with seven artists and five community organizations participating so far.

If you would like to be involved contact Jennifer through her website www.hicksinthesound.simdif.com, Instagram @woodchuckandbrush or cell at 226–500–5154.
