1923truck

Two trucks out, one truck in. The 1923 LaFrance pumper pictured here was delivered to Owen Sound by rail straight from the factory in the spring of that year. It served the Owen Sound Fire Department until 1967, and it is now being taken to Grey Roots Museum to be restored by volunteers and once again be seen by the public.

The 2008 Ford F550 Mini-Pumper that went into service in the spring of 2012 has been soldto a firm in the US for $70,000 minus advertising fees (you cannot sell an operating fire truck on Kijiji), and council has authorized the purchase of a "well-conditioned and fully-equipped 2013 pumper" to serve the city's fire department for the foreseeable future.
