mayor-and-council---better

If you're looking for members of Owen Sound's city council this week and find they're thin on the ground, it is because Mayor Ian Boddy and some members of council are at the annual conference of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) this week in Ottawa. In addition to the conference program, municipal staff and officials will take part in municipal delegation meetings with provincial and federal ministries. The Mayor, members of council and MPP Bill Walker will be meeting with MPP Daine Vernile, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation. Mayor Boddy will be discussing the 10th Street bridge replacement and the importance of the bridge as a connecting link for Grey and Bruce.

The annual conference is a chance for municipal officials to discuss and move forward on shared challenges, to learn and to create new opportunities that can benefit their communities. Officials also take part in delegation meetings with municipal and federal ministries.

Warden Al Barfoot will also be attending the conference.  Program details are available online from AMO.
