Time to clean out that workshop and garage. From 9 until 2 on Saturday, September 9, residents (with proof of address) of Owen Sound, Meaford, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, West Grey and Grey Highlands can bring their household hazardous waste to the Owen Sound Public Works building at 1900 20th Street East.
No PCBs (flourescent light ballasts), infectious waste (used syringes), explosives or ammunition. Please make sure that everything you bring is in a labelled container – no surprises!
Don't bring empty paint cans and aerosol containers - they can be put in Blue Boxes in Owen Sound).
This project is in co-operation with Orange Drop, an industry-funded recycling program aimed at keeping hazardous and special waste out of Ontario's landfills and waterways.
More information is on the city website.
There are two more Household Hazardous Waste days this year – October 14 and October 28.
