treeplanting

Get ready to green where you live with TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and the City of Owen Sound for the 2017 TD Tree Days.

The City, in partnership with TD Friends of the Environment Foundation are hosting a volunteer tree planting event at Kelso Beach Park on Saturday, September 23rd at 10:00 AM where volunteers will be planting 150 trees!

A mixture of native trees, including some flowering species will provide food and refuge for butterflies, birds and other pollinators. The new plantings will also help to improve soil quality along the boulevard of the Eddie Sargent Parkway at Kelso Beach Park.

This event is suitable for ages 12 and up, and is perfect for families and community groups. It could be a fun, green, way to get those high school volunteer hours!

This planting day is part of TD Tree Days, a national program lead by TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. These family-friendly events see volunteers plant trees to help the environment in their local community. The City of Owen Sound is pleased to work with TD to Green where you want to live!

Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to register to volunteer at tdtreedays.com.
