garbageThe City of Owen Sound and Sydenham Sportsmen's Association are postponing the City-wide litter pick-up scheduled for this Saturday, April 21st due to unseasonable weather conditions. The event will now take place Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

This event celebrates Earth Week and provides residents with an opportunity to improve the appearance of the City by picking up litter that has accumulated over the winter.

Volunteers are asked to register across from the Farmers' Market Building along the river at 1:00 PM near the big brown dumpster. Volunteers are required to sign an insurance waiver and will be provided rubber gloves and garbage bags. Full garbage bags should be returned to the registration area for disposal in the bin donated by Miller Waste Systems. The Sydenham Sportsmen's Association will also be deploying a pontoon boat to collect trash from the water if conditions are favourable.

Volunteers will be entered in a draw for prizes at 3:00 PM behind City Hall. Food and drinks are also available at 3:00 PM courtesy of the Sydenham Sportsmen's Association.
