canadian-flagOwen Sound will celebrate Canada Day with tons of family entertainment, games and attractions throughout the day, followed by an outstanding evening music program and spectacular fireworks display over the bay on Sunday, July 1st.

Entertainment and kids' activities begin at 12:00 PM, with Elephant Thoughts opening educational and interactive stations. These stations are great for all ages and include: The Ultimate Play Station, where children can build their own playground, Shrinky Dink and UV Bead necklace making, Alien Slime station, giant Lego blocks, life-sized Connect Four game, bubbles & more! Plus, kids are encouraged to check out the 'Zoo Guts Endangered Species Program' where they must assemble giant inflatable animal's unique systems! All activities provided by Elephant Thoughts are free.

Kids and families are invited to also check out demonstrations and activities from Georgian Bay Cheer Athletics, All-in-One Inflatables, KUGO FX Airbrush Tattoos and Face-painting, and pony rides from Glendale Farms.

HER Grey Bruce takes to the Kelso Beach Amphitheatre beginning at 12:30 PM with 'Mindful Movement' sessions including Kung Fu, SitFit, Kid's Yoga, Classic Nia and Zumba. These sessions are free and offer people of all ages and abilities a form of physical activity.

Musical performances are free for all to enjoy and start on the Amphitheatre stage at 3:45 PM with Owen Sound's Poet Laureate Lauren Best, offering a children's workshop. At 5:00 PM Laura Walker takes to the stage, followed by Andrew Litt at 6:00 PM, greetings from local dignitaries will be on the stage amongst a performance by the Owen Sound City Band at 7:00 PM, and musical headliner Matt Epp at 8:00 PM. The night caps off with a spectacular display of fireworks over the bay beginning at 10:00 PM.

Other vendors will be on site throughout the day including Silver Desire Jewellery Imports, Hans Enterprise, and You Too Blankets & Accessories. Food and drinks are available for purchase from: Just a Cup, Prancing Pachyderms, Heavenly Dreams Ice Cream Inc, The Bavarian Hut, Top-Dog, Big Bay General Store, Donut Diner, and Fired Up at Grilled in Action.
