Riverside reunionT

his Saturday, September the 28th from 4PM until 11PM, join the city of Owen Sound to celebrate the Downtown River Precinct at the Riverside Reunion. This is a one-day, rain-or-shine, smoke free event that celebrates the Sydenham River in the newly refurbished and inclusive public space. From 2nd Ave East to the river, between 8th Street and 9th Street there will be live music, a childrens play area, and family focused activities.

To accommodate the event, 1st Avenue East from 8th Street East to just south of the Tim Horton’s Drive Thru will be closed.  North of the Drive Thru to 9th Street East will remain open to allow access to the Tim Horton’s Drive Thru, beginning at 7:00AM on the event day. The City Hall parking lot will be closed beginning Friday, September 27th at 7:30AM until the end of the day Monday, September 30th to accommodate event setup. The Owen Sound Farmers’ Market will be open regular hours from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM and people are encouraged to use municipal lots 5, 8 and 9 for event parking. Parking in the downtown is free.

The stage will be located on 1st Avenue East between the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market and City Hall. Entertainment will begin at 4:00 PM on the 'Main Stage' with Emma Wright, followed with performances by local entertainers Megan Morrison, Behind Bars, Vita Bowen and Zac Brown Band Tribute Artists, Chicken Fried.

The family focused activities will take place in the Market Square. Learn about the fall Salmon Run and enjoy some local salmon and other delicious food from vendors along 1st Avenue East.

The childrens area will include bouncy castles, mini golf, inflatable sports games and more. Children and family activities will take place from 4:00 PM  until dusk in the Market square. Event goers will also have the opportunity to learn about the fall Salmon Run and enjoy some local salmon and other delicious food from vendors on 1st Avenue East and in our licensed area.

The area is smoke free and will be enforced by Security. Portable cigarette butt disposal containers will be at the entrance to the area, please dispose of cigarette butts prior to entering.

Parking is free throughout the downtown and all Municipal lots with the exception of City Hall will remain open.
