fonlThe Festival of Northern Lights is back for its 32nd year of lights and magic! We’d love you to join us once again for free family fun at our Opening Celebration on Saturday, November 16th from 1:30 - 9:00 pm as we light up Owen Sound for another festive season.

Create your own seasonal art and crafts at the Tom Thompson Art Gallery between 1:30 - 3:30 pm. Then make a stop at the North Grey Union Public Library for story time with Mrs. Claus at 3:30 pm and to make some fun crafts. There will be a ukulele carol sing at the fireplace in the Library’s Carnegie Hall at 7:30 pm. The Owen Sound Farmers’ Market Building will be open from 3:30 - 9:00 pm where we will be offering a variety of activities including crafts, face painting, a fish pond and a selfie station.

Enjoy the entertainment starting at 5:30 pm at the Queen’s Park Bandstand on 1st Avenue West. Come early to claim a good viewing spot as the lights turn on and the fireworks hit the sky at 7:00 pm. Then tour the displays either by an evening stroll or a horse-drawn wagon ride which will depart from the Market Building between 7:30 - 9:00 pm. Treat yourself to a hot chocolate and fresh popcorn and enjoy the live musical entertainment at the Market Building while waiting for your wagon ride.

During the seven-week Festival, make certain you visit Harrison Park for more displays and partake in our new Winter Wonderland Walking path.
