A group of Owen Sound residents sent a series of questions to those running for city council for 2018 to 2022.  To be clear, these people are not formally connected; they don't even all know each other. To be clear, these people are not formally connected; they don't even all know each other.  They signed on, they said, because "It's a big job, running our city, that requires you to grapple with important issues. And we as citizens have a tough job too – deciding who has the skills and ideas to equip them to lead Owen Sound."

These may or may not be your questions, but we hope the answers are of some help to you in making your decision.

There are twelve questions, and we will be publishing the answers to each from the 14 candidates who sent replies.

One prefaced their answers with this:

"I suggest that you not ask whether each candidate checks off all of your boxes but rather whether on balance a person has the intelligence and courage to make one or two positive changes for this city during his or her four year term.

Your questions are expansive. Please remember the adage that a politician with 20 priorities is a man with none."

The first question is this:

1. Why are you running for City Council? What is your agenda for improving our city?

The answers to this question are here.  (The order of responses will change with each question)
