smokestacksDear Editor,

Climate change is real. Climate change is a threat. So, the very real threat of climate change requires action now. To act on the very real threat of climate change it requires a plan. This brings me to question what the federal Conservative Party's climate change plan is. Canadians expect nothing less from our federal government or of any political party wanting to form the government after the 2019 election. They expect them to provide a practical and effective plan to protect Canadians from a climate change catastrophe. Canadians should not have to be content with a potential party forming government and not having a plan. The recent report by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warns that we have 12 years to prevent a climate change catastrophe. We do not have time for a party and/or future government without a climate change plan. The Canadian government has an obligation to protect Canadians from climate disaster. Decisions must be made for a plan of action. The Conservative Party of Canada must be upfront with Canadians and release an effective plan to combat climate change so Canadians know what they will do if elected.
