Welcome Back!
After a lengthy hiatus due to COVID over the past couple of years and extensive renovations at the Harrison Park Senior Centre, we want to extend a warm welcome back.
This year, the Harrison Park Senior Centre is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Since 1993, , this hub has been housed in Owen Sound’s beautiful Harrison Park in the former Park keeper’s home. Over these many years, the Harrison Park Senior Centre has provided many programs and services to those 55 years and older.
The building is fully wheelchair accessible as a result of recent work by the city of Owen Sound. A new and wider ramp has been installed at the front entrance and a wider door opening made available to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers into the main activity space.
There is no registration or membership fees required to participate in any of the activities. Harrison Park Senior Centre is run exclusively by volunteers and by donations of those, who participate in the various programs.
Every day of the work week, activities are run at the site. During the months of March and April, the Harrison Park Senior Centre also participates in the Canadian Volunteer Income Tax Program, sponsored by the CRA. This program provides basic income tax services for low income individuals at no cost.
The Harrison Park Senior Centre has always been an inclusive place where seniors can gather to play games, sing songs, and build friendships. If you are looking for social connections and activities, drop into the Harrison Park Senior Centre, or call 519-371-0024 during the weekdays.
Looking forward to seeing you!
