Frisky-poster

Downtown Owen Sound can shake off the winter blues this Friday, February 5th with another 1st FRIDAY event.

This third of four evenings brought to you by BoOST, FRISKY 1st FRIDAY is an opportunity to come downtown and experience shopping, dining and entertainment aimed at the more "adult" audience. The evening will be topped off with a Burlesque Show at Heartwood Concert Hall. Tickets are available at Heartwood Home or Tickefly.

The FRISKY theme was chosen specifically to complement Valentine's day and the month of love!

FIRST FRIDAY events were created by BoOST (Businesses and Organizations of Owen Sound Together) under the leadership of Camille Cole of Dr. Cobbler, to allow the specialty stores in our downtown core to highlight their individual flavor. BoOST's mandate is to support and encourage our downtown neighbourhood. Nearly 30 stores will have the signature poster in the window and will by flying red balloons to indicate theirinvolvement. In collaboration with the Downtown Improvement Area (DIA), this allows stores to create their own magic and style within their doors.

Dr. Cobbler will be featuring sales, treats and giveaways, all to the smooth crooning of Brian Tannahill. The Tom Thomson Art Gallery will be hosting an adult colouring party in the old Heinrichs Building. The Owen Sound Artists' Co-op is having their grand opening all day, with speeches and ribbon cutting at 3 pm, music by Dave Hawkins and treats by Birgit's Pastry. Artists will be painting in the window throughout the day, and in the evening, Ann Wylie Toal will be offering a pre-registered free workshop on ring making. Each store in the downtown will delight and excite you with their fun interpretation of the evening.

What a way to chase away the cold wet winter, with a warm, frisky Friday night.
