Ppawprints

Pawprints on the Heart: Animal Stories from Grey-Bruce is a new anthology celebrating the human-animal connection. Initiated by Dr. Debbie Boyd of the Grey Bruce Pet Hospital, the book is the result of a local writing contest; stories from 29 writers are included. Pawprints from the Heart will be launched at The Ginger Press in downtown Owen Sound at 2:00pm on Saturday October 28. Many of the contributors will be present.

This collection of stories about Grey-Bruce people and their pets is a reminder of the importance of the animals in our lives. From wonder dogs to unusual pet goats to remarkable felines and even a cross-country riding camel, each of the stories describes the life-altering human-animal bond.

Proceeds from the sale of Pawprints on the Heart will be donated to the Farley Foundation, which makes it possible for those who struggle financially to pay for veterinary care to continue their relationships with the pets that mean the world to them.

The Foreword to Pawprints on the Heart is written by world-famous cartoonist Lynn Johnson , whose cartoon dog Farley inspired the name of the Foundation. Lynn writes, "Pets listen, they console, they accompany and they love. They are part of our family and part of our heart. That's why they stay with us long after their physical presence is gone."

Everyone is welcome to attend the launch. Autographed copies of Pawprints on the Heart ($24.95) can be reserved at (519) 376-4233 if you are unable to attend.
