tradesOn January 18, OSDSS partnered with the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program to offer an experience for elementary students to try their hands in the trades in the different technology labs throughout the school.

Students in grades 7 & 8 from a number of elementary schools had the opportunity to complete a project and enjoy a dinner prepared by the OSDSS Culinary program. trades2trades3trades4Over 100 students and parents tried their hand at the different technology labs: Design Technology, Communication Technology, Woodworking/Construction, Automotive, Electrical/Drywall, Integrated Technology, Culinary Arts, Hairstyling & Aesthetics. Skilled women currently working in the different trades also visited to lend their support.

Students created a number of projects created in each of the labs that they were able to take home and enjoy in the future.

OSDSS would like to thank the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program & Tradeswomen for their continued support of our programs.
