runThe 9th Annual Subaru Bayshore Race has announced a new location and race route. The Race will now begin and end at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital, with the course to utilize the nearby Rail Trail. The 1K, 5K, 10K and ½ Marathon events will continue to take place.

"Participants will still experience a flat, fast course on our new trail run route. The trail will keep our runners and walkers safe, and offer a different experience from a road race" said Greg Nicol, Race Director.

For the past 8 years, the Bayshore Race has been held at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound, with runners heading north on 3rd Ave. East. Infrastructure improvements are scheduled to take place along 3rd Ave. East for the next few years, presenting an exciting opportunity for race coordinators to relocate the race.

"Participant safety is of the utmost importance when it comes to our event. We're happy to announce a new route, which ties in our fundraising efforts with the new race location. We hope that runners and racer fans will better connect with the venue, seeing first hand where their fundraising efforts support.

Our excitement renews as we see this event continue to grow" said Amy McKinnon, Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation's Executive Director.

The 9th Annual Subaru Bayshore Race hosted by Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation, scheduled for Sunday, August 26th, will raise money to support the $1.3 million dollar purchase of 11 new anesthesia machines needed for each operating room and MRI suite at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital.
