veteransBilly Bishop Home & Museum invites you to our Annual Veterans' Commemoration Day BBQ and Exhibit Opening of "The Comforts of Home" on Sunday, June 3rd, 12pm.

The day will begin with a barbeque in the backyard garden at 12 pm, rain or shine. The BBQ is complimentary for all Veterans and $5 per person for all others.

The official ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm. We will be honouring all our Veterans and hosting the grand opening of our new exhibition, "The Comforts of Home". This exhibit will look at what comforts the soldiers had during the First and Second World Wars. What was life like for the soldiers overseas in and out of the trenches? The "Comforts of Home" will look at care packages and letters from home that may have included items such as postcards, items knitted for a soldier, or keepsakes sent to or from a soldier.veterans2

We will also recognize the anniversary of D-Day and Vimy Ridge, and recognize the sacrifices of all Veterans with a special wreath laying.

We hope you take this special opportunity to visit Billy Bishop Home & Museum and meet with the Veterans who have served and who are presently serving our country in the cause of peace and freedom.

The Museum's Annual General Meeting is to take place at approximately 2:45 pm, right after the Veterans Commemoration Ceremony. All are welcome.

Thank you to National Grocers Cash & Carry, Foodland, Food Basics, Metro, Shoppers Drug Mart, Veterans Affairs Canada, all Veterans, and the public for helping to make this day so special.
