It is going to be a season of change for the Holiday Tour of Homes Committee. This Fall long standing committee member and Chair Rob Dinsmore has passed on this annual Owen Sound tradition to a new and eager committee of volunteers.

The Holiday Tour of Homes has been bringing together talented local decorators and gracious home owners in support of great local causes for many years. Each year ticket holders are invited to take a tour through the exquisitely decorated homes to get in the festive spirit and get inspired by the holiday home décor designs. Ticket holders were also invited to gather for tea, coffee snacks and the chance to peruse the silent auction items that were donated by generous local merchants.

The proceeds for this annual event have been presented to a number of local causes in the past. Most recently in 2017 the Holiday Tour of Homes presented a cheque for $15,000 to Chapman House the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce.

While the new committee members are excited to take on this new project the timeline before them was going to make it too difficult to execute for the 2018 holiday season. Rachel Taylor a member of the committee said “There are very high expectations for this event each year and we want to make sure we have the time to really do it right. We also have some new ideas we would like to introduce to the event that people can look forward to next year. ”

Next years Holiday Tour of Homes will take place Saturday November 23rd & Sunday November 24th, 2019. The committee will once again choose to support Chapman House with the proceeds of the event and would like to encourage those who were planning on attending the event this year to consider donating the $25 ticket price to Chapman House. Chapman House provides compassionate, dignified, patient-centered comfort care to individuals with progressive life-limiting illnesses, empowering them to live well while dying.
