me to weLast week the Alexandra Community School Me to We club, led by Amber Stephens, collected Halloween candy from our school community to bring to the folks that visit OSHARE.

Students from various classes hand decorated bags and then our ME to WE club filled the bags with candy. Yesterday, after school, they took the candy bags to OSHARE so that they could be given out as special Halloween treats. While this was a chance for our school to give back to the community, it also gave our Me to We leaders the opportunity to learn about OSHARE and the important work that they do to serve our community.

Amber Stephens and Judy Shaughnessy, the two teachers who accompanied the children, were so excited about the visit that they are looking at organizing a group of staff and students to serve supper at OSHARE every month.

This is part of our school goal of helping our students to develop as active citizens and contributing members of society. At Alexandra, we want our children to understand the importance of changing the world one act of kindness at a time.
