rainbowflags

Grey Bruce Pride is filling the sky with rainbows thanks to the support of the United Way of Bruce Grey and the Community Foundation Grey Bruce.

A $2 500 grant from the Community Foundation through the United Way  has purchased 270 rainbow flags to put rainbows throughout the two counties for the 2019 Pride Month.

Area municipalities are being invited to hoist the flag on every flag pole available, not just town halls, but fire halls and police stations and other community buildings.

The Pride flag is a sign that all people - gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, two-spirit - and their allies are welcome in our communities.  To be certain, raising the Pride flag is a symbolic gesture, but it is one which has the power to lift hearts, embolden struggling souls, and broaden perspectives.  It's important because many members of the LGBTQ2S community are our business owners, customers, tax payers, elected officials, health care professionals, civil servants, and retirees, and ALL are a part of our Grey-Bruce  communities.
