The Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound is inviting you to Swing In To Summer at their 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament. The event will take place on June 21st at Stone Tree Golf and Fitness Club, and will help raise funds that will be invested back in to the community.
“When you drive around the city you can see how Kiwanians are working with community partners to make a difference,” said President Michelle Kobryn. “Especially as the weather improves, we get to see things like the SK8 Park, the Harrison Park playground and the soccer fields being enjoyed by kids and their family. Supporting our Club at an event like our Golf Tournament is more like making an investment in our community.”
Teams of four will participate in a best-ball scramble-format tournament, but the focus is on fun and fellowship. Registration includes a welcome package, lunch by Boston Pizza, 18 holes of golf with cart and dinner following the round.
“We wanted to get an early start to the golf season,” said Kiwanian and tournament organizer Warren Elder. “We have some pretty exciting projects we’ll be supporting this year, and inviting people to Swing In To Summer with us will help our Club meet some pretty ambitious goals. And no matter your level of talent, there’s a place and even a shot at prizes for you.”
Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound supports a number of local initiatives that benefit children and youth. In addition to some of the capital projects noted, the Club also supports the Terrific Kids Program, Kiwanis Kids Outreach and supporting children need.
“We know that there are lots of appeals for your donation dollars,” said Michelle. “So our promise is to continue to make sure we invest in initiatives that benefit as many people as possible. Kiwanis has been a part of Owen Sound for almost 100 years, we have a history of supporting great projects to look back on, but our best work is still ahead of us. We’re looking forward to a great event.”
