Emptying a house to put it up for sale – especially your parents' house – is hard and emotional work.

Perhaps you remember our story from last fall about a family selling off a lifetime of collecting and storing. Work schedules and health concerns dragged out the process over months.

The house at 757 9th St. 'A' East is now sold, and the new owners take possession October 8.

But it is still not empty.

Yes, some of the salt and pepper sets are still there. And a beautiful roll top desk. A bedroom set, maple table and chairs, men's leather coats. And so many (so many) knick knacks and small items.

The family is going to try one more time this weekend to get things out of the house – many items will be 50 cents, or 25 cents, or free.
If you have a use for these things and can take them away, please come along to their indoor sale [UPDATE] this Saturday, September 28 from 7 until 4, or contact them at [email protected].
