This year marks the 8th Anniversary of the formation of the Grey Bruce Sustainability Network. The group's annual meeting  is happening on Tuesday, June 7th at 3:30 with social, supper and guest speaker – Victoria Serda from Saugreen for the Environment, and anyone is welcome.

As with many organizations, GBSusNet took a few years to get its legs and clearly define the kind of work it needed to do to be "sustainable" as a not-for-profit social enterprise. With support from a range of corporate and community sponsors, GBSusNet's cornerstone project is called CareerWORKS which delivers day long interactive session for high school students on themes like water, energy, food and agriculture and mostrecently climate change. What are the jobs available and career paths required to work in these fields?

Eight different CareerWORKs sessions will be offered to area schools in 2016. Other current GBSusNet projects include a Seniors e-waste Deconstruction project, a municipal Energy Conservation Demand Management Plan; Composting Pilot project; Binder deconstruction project, Sustainable Living Workshops, Asset Mapping, Coffeehouse Collective events and more.

If you have a project in mind and you are looking for a host, sponsor or simply someone to talk to about it, GBSusNet would like to hear from you.
