graffiti-fullCOLLINGWOOD - Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the OPP have charged two youths in relation to numerous graffiti incidents in Collingwood.

The extensive investigation, which took place over the last two months, identified over 70 incidents of graffiti in Collingwood, many which had not been reported to police. All had the same identifying 'tag' and had been placed on structures on both public and private properties. As the investigation progressed, officers were able to identify the culprits in these mischiefs and as a result, charges were laid.

Charged are a 14 year old youth from Collingwood, he is charged with 16 counts of mischief under $5000, and a 15 year-old youth from Collingwood who is charged with eight counts of mischief under $5000. Both youths cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
