Changes have been made to the staff recommendations for the Markdale and Area Schools, following the Accomodation Review Process.  Community co-operation at work!

Markdale and Area Schools
A. Introduction
The purpose of the final staff report is to present the final recommendations for the accommodation review for the Markdale and Area Schools.
Recommendations
1. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, accepting the Municipality of Grey Highlands' partnership proposal and support for the operation deficit at the existing Beavercrest Community School based on the agreed upon terms, commencing        September 2017.
2. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, accepting pledged financial support from Chapman's Ice Cream for the operation deficit at the existing Beavercrest Community School commencing September 2017.
3. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, negotiating with Chapman's Ice Cream, the Municipality of Grey Highlands, and with future potential viable partners who come forward, to secure funding that offsets capital upkeep for              Beavercrest Community School.
4. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, investigating the partnership proposal and funding offer from Chapman's Ice Cream as presented at the Special Board Meeting for Accommodation Review Delegations held on March 9, 2017 (Appendix ii).
5. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, investigating complementary Ministry of Education funding in the form of a business case to support a new school to replace Beavercrest Community School in Markdale.
6. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, scheduling Beavercrest Community School for closure effective June 30, 2018 should sufficient funding and agreements to accommodate Beavercrest Community School students in a new replacement facility not be in place by March 31, 2018; and,
That the students be accommodated at Holland-Chatsworth Central School, Spruce Ridge Community School, and Macphail Memorial Elementary School effective September 2018.
