Community partnerships appear to have kept Paisley Central School open at least until June 2019, as further "viable partners" are sought.  The staff report recommends moving secondary programs, except the Specialist High Skills Major Agriculture program, out of Chesley District Community School, starting this fall.

A. Introduction
The purpose of the final staff report is to present the final recommendations for the accommodation review of the Chesley andPaisley Area Schools.
Based on this accommodation review, the following recommendations are proposed to address the accommodation pressures that exist in the Chesley and Paisley Area Schools.
Recommendations
1. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, accommodating the Chesley District Community School Grade 9 to 12 program at Walkerton District Community School, Saugeen District Secondary School, Owen Sound District Secondary School, and John Diefenbaker Senior School based on the adjusted boundaries (Appendix ii), effective September 1, 2017.
2. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, maintaining the Specialist High Skills Major Agriculture program at Chesley District Community School at the current location as a satellite program, effective September 1, 2017.
3. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, accepting the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie's partnership offer at Paisley Central School to offset the expected annual school operation deficit, based on the agreed upon terms.
4. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, negotiating with the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie and with future potential viable partners who come forward, to secure funding that offsets capital upkeep for Paisley Central School.
5. That Bluewater District School Board consider for approval, scheduling Paisley Central School for closure June 30, 2019 if sufficient partnerships and funding options are not in place by March 31, 2019 to offset capital upkeep; and,
That the students be accommodated at Chesley District Community School, Walkerton District Community School, and Port Elgin-Saugeen Central School.
