Police are seeking the assistance of the public, asking any witnesses to a road rage incident that occurred on the east side of Owen Sound, to come forward.
On Sunday September 3rd, 2017, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a male driver was operating his green Honda Civic on Highway 6 & 10 headed north towards Owen Sound. The incident first erupted at the intersection of 16th Street East and 16th Avenue East in Owen Sound, where a male and female exited from the suspect vehicle and began yelling and banging on the Honda Civic's window while parked at the red light. The Civic was eventually able to drive away, but was followed by the suspect vehicle for several blocks to the A&W parking lot on 16th Street East across from Heritage Place Mall. The suspect continued to yell at the other driver for a period of time and attempted to grab the driver of the Civic to pull him out of the vehicle. The male suspect then smashed the Honda Civic's window before getting back in his vehicle and fleeing the scene. The victim suffered minor cuts to his arms from the glass as a result.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark grey (not blue as shown) Kia Forte, possibly 2014/2015 year, with dark tinted windows. The licence plate was not obtained however the suspect vehicle had both a male (driver) and female (passenger) who exited the vehicle in both locations and participated in the incident.
The male suspect is described as mid-30's, red beard with full sleeve tattoos on both arms, medium long dark hair and a ball hat. The female passenger was also described as mid-30's, approximately 5'5", brown hair, thin build and wearing a grey Ideal Supply sweatshirt.
Any person who witnessed the incidents in either location is asked to contact police. Any information would be useful to the investigation and would assist in identifying the person(s) responsible. If you have any information regarding this incident, you are asked to contact the investigating officer Constable J. Hawke at (519) 376-1234 x 180 or [email protected].
