french speakingBluewater District School Board students who are studying French as a Second Language are preparing to showcase their public speaking skills in a popular annual competition. LE CONCOURS D'ART ORATOIRE DU CONSEIL SCOLAIRE RÉGIONAL DE BLUEWATER will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Bluewater District School Board Education Centre in Chesley.

The competition will be divided into the grade levels of 4 to 6, 7 to 8, 9 to 10, and 11 to 12, with students speaking in the categories of Core, Extended, and French Immersion. Now in its second year, the Impromptu category has generated a great amount of interest. Each participant will be provided time to gather their ideas, and then present a short impromptu speech based on a provided photograph.

First place winners will advance to the provincial event to be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at York University, Glendon Campus in Toronto.

Le Concours is conducted jointly by Bluewater Chapters of Canadian Parents for French and Bluewater District School Board.
