Meaford Pride FlagThe Municipality of Meaford has raised the pride flag for the first time at 8:30am on June 18th at the Market Square flag polls.

The Grey Bruce Pride committee sent letters to all 17 municipalities in Grey and Bruce counties to request that they fly the LGBTQ rainbow Pride flag in celebration of Pride Month in June. At their April 9th meeting, Meaford Council passed a resolution to display the Pride Flag on one of the poles in the downtown core for a period of 1 week.

As per Council's resolution, the Canadian Pride Flag demonstrates that the Municipality of Meaford supports the rights of LGBTQ in our community and values inclusion, tolerance, and love.

"The Municipality of Meaford is a welcoming community, proud of our heritage, and very excited about our future." Said Mayor Barb Clumpus. "We warmly embrace diversity and the strength of tradition in our rural agricultural community. The raising of the pride flag signals the celebration of inclusivity and respect for all."
