On Thursday evening around 8:30 p.m. Owen Sound Emergency Personnel rushed to the scene of a single vehicle accident in the 1600 block of 10th Street East. The driver of a motorcycle lost control as he travelled east bound on 10th Street East through the intersection at 16th Avenue.

The bike left the roadway at which time the driver was ejected off. The 56 year old driver was rushed to the Owen Sound Hospital with life threatening injuries and later air lifted to the Victoria Hospital in London where he remains in critical condition.
Police had the 1600 block of 10th Avenue closed for investigation for several hours. The roadway was re-opened at 6:30 a.m. this morning. The Owen Sound Police and OPP Accident Investigators along with the Owen Sound Identifications Unit worked throughout the night at the scene of the collision.
The Owen Sound Police Service are requesting for anyone who may have witnessed the accident and have not yet spoken with police to contact the investigating officer, Constable Harris at (519) 376-1234 ext. 181, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at www.cstip.ca.
