There are two reasons you want to mark December 7 on your calendar and be at the Roxy Theatre at 7:30.

The first is a great night out - The Return of Buddy Holly.  Starring Gavan Rousseau as Buddy Holly, the audience will be brought on a musical time travel back to 1956 when Buddy Holly first hit the scene and taken right up to the fateful night in February of 1959 when it all came to a tragic end. Think  - Peggy Sue, That'll Be The Day, True Love Ways, Think It Over, It Doesn't Matter Anymore, Everyday.
The show also features a tribute to Richie Valens, The Big Bopper and Dion, of The Belmonts who were also along on the Winter Dance Party Tour - remember La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, Runaround Sue?  All backed by great bands for a sound true to the original artists.

And the second reason?  The profits from the show are to support the Friends of Moreston Village in their next project - building a General Store at Moreston Village on the grounds of Grey Roots Museum and Archives.

Historically, General Stores were an important part of rural villages in Grey County, and this will be an important addition to the "village".  The Friends plan to be building the foundation in the spring of 2019.

The Friends of Moreston Village is a registered not for profit organization made up of volunteers and employees of Grey Roots who assist Grey Roots with the preservation, upkeep and promotion of the heritage in Moreston Village. During the year they hold hands- on work days , maintaining the variety of gardens in the village and handling a variety of small tasks that are required to keep the village safe and sound.

In the past the friends have raised funds for painting the Schoolhouse, the Farm house Band and the Band Shell,  supplying wood fencing, and planting trees. They are curently supporting the installation and construction of a cenotaph, but the General Store is their biggest project to date.

Tickets for the Buddy Holly show are on sale at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound.
