It's right around the corner from their other business, but it's a big turn in a new direction.

evolution3Ed and Lee-Ann Clements will be celebrating the grand opening of Evolution Fitness and Wellness in Springmount this Saturday, February 23 from 10 until 2.

The Clements went to school in Owen Sound, and put down their own family roots here. After years with Logans TV, including service work up ladders on satellite dishes in all kinds of weather, Ed could see the changes in the industry and the opportunities in health and fitness.

For fourteen years, since her daughter was born, Lee-Ann suffered from the mental and physical symptoms of undiagnosed Lyme disease. The condition was recognized by her Naturopath, and as Lee-Ann steadily regains her strength and fitness, her interest in learning more about wellness grows.

The new Evolution facility, a former retail and warehouse space, is over 7500 sq.ft. and offers separate spaces for classes, weight training, cardio, boxing bags, boot camp, and a large turfed area for sports training drills. The gym is accessible 24/7  (the door opens with a phone app) to fit into everyone's schedule.

Classes will include everything from yoga to HIIT (high intensity interval training) including Tabata. Evolution wants to work with partners, offering demonstrations and workshops on a variety of health and wellness related topics, and there will be a small health fair at the grand opening, along with coupons and free draws.

More equipment is still arriving, like new machines and cargo nets for planned ninja warrior courses.  There is an infra-red sauna evolution2beside the change rooms and showers. They intend to bring in deep tissue services, based on the work of Dr. Wolfe, author of Healthy to 100.

Evolution is the only gym on the west side of the City, at 104 Shane Street, right next to Elsie's Diner, and close to the Phoenix gymnastics facility.
