good food boxThe Sauble Beach Family Health Team and Grey Bruce Health Unit are looking for a volunteer site coordinator to support a team of volunteers to deliver the services of the Sauble Good Food Box. The volunteer site coordinator acts as a local contact, organizesorders, and works with volunteers to pack boxes on pick up day. The position requires about 15 hours every month and can be shared between several volunteers.

“The Good Food Box depends on volunteers in order to maintain affordability and sustainability. They are invaluable to the growth and success of the program” says Public Health Dietitian Laura Needham, who works with the program. Volunteering with the Good Food Box has given coordinators the chance to meet new people and be a leader of their community for a good cause.

Orders for the Sauble Good Food Box are currently continuing but may be put on hold if a new coordinator is not found. Packing days occur on the third Tuesday of the month at the Sauble Family Health Team. Contact Laura Needham if you are interested in becoming a volunteer site coordinator ([email protected]).

The Good Food Box is a volunteer powered, community based program to improve access to quality food by making fresh produce available at a low cost. There are 19 Good Food Box sites across Grey Bruce. Visit Good Food Box for more information and locations.
