Downtown MeafordThe Meaford Public Library Fundraising Committee is inviting Meaford businesses to participate in an exciting donation opportunity.

An anonymous donor has pledged to match donations made by local businesses to the new Meaford Public Library building campaign during the month of May, up to a total of $25,000. The Friends of Meaford Library are pleased to administer this challenge.

“The new Meaford Public Library will draw people to the downtown core and provide an increase in traffic to the area” said fundraising committee chair Peter Bantock. “There are also many functions of the library that our local businesses use including meeting spaces, video and teleconferencing equipment, printing, faxing, and online resources.”

To date the fundraising campaign for the new Meaford Public Library building has reached over $400,000, over halfway to the $750,000 goal.

Double the value of your contribution by donating to the Business Challenge before May 31, 2019. You can make a donation online at www.friendsofmeafordlibrary.ca/business-challenge and receive an instant tax receipt. Donations by cash or cheque made out to the Friends of the Meaford Library can also be dropped off at the library with “Business Challenge” noted in the memo field.
