beer-fullDuring the early evening hours of Sunday November 30th, a male who was under the influence of alcoholic beverages began to argue with his girlfriend of several years, about a former boyfriend who had made a comment on Facebook.

The argument escalated with the male becoming aggressive and as a result the woman told her boyfriend that she was removing their two young children from her residence. This caused the Durham resident to shove the victim against the wall and then throw furniture around her residence with the children still present.

The 29-year-old Owen Sound woman took their children to her vehicle with the male following, continuing to argue and attempted to block the vehicle from leaving. The male punched the rear window of the truck as he wanted to say good bye to his children and as a result the victim allowed that to happen. The victim left having concerns and went to family who subsequently contacted police.

Police conducted an investigation into domestic related assault and subsequently the 31 year old male was taken into custody without incident. The male will appear in Bail Court on the 01st of December facing one count of Assault.
