Downtown businesses are gearing up for a busy weekend of events with July 5 Live and the Hottest Street Sale!

On Friday, July 5th, downtown businesses are coming alive with activities and live entertainment throughout the day and into the evening! Schedule follows:

The Rocking Horse - 11:00AM-12:00 PM – Grey Roots Under The Canopy – live reptiles

11:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Create Your Own Button

5:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Face Painting

5:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Photo Booth with Parson’s Foto Source

5:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Children’s entertainer, Brandon Marlow

The Bus Stop Café - 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM – Barbershop Quartet, Rythmix

Grey Gallery – 5:00 PM – 9:00PM – Jazz guitarist Paul Danard will be performing, plus save the tax!

Phoenix Books – 25% off books

Heartwood Hall – 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM – Come in and enjoy a drink in their beautiful upstairs space!

The Milk Maid - 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Performance by Dave Grenon of Joyful Joyful, plus a featured cider from Coffin Ridge.

The Bleeding Carrot - 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM - Open Mic Night + special menu items.

On Saturday, it’s the 31st annual Hottest Street Sale! From 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, merchants will be lining 2nd Avenue East between 7th Street and 11th Street. As always, there will be something for everyone, with a variety of different food and drink vendors and great deals from our Downtown businesses and more!

On the Summerfolk Stage, at the intersection of 2nd Avenue East and 9th Street, there will be musical performances starting at 9:00 AM by; Drew McIvor, Emma Wright, Rob Elder, Bob Robinson, Madison Galloway and The Great Canadian Swampstompers!

Because of the Hottest Street Sale, 2nd Avenue will be closed from 7th Street to 11th Street, starting at 5:00 AM Saturday morning. 9th Street will also be closed from 1st Avenue East to 3rd Avenue East.
