us themThe Inclusive Communities Committee of Grey and Bruce (ICC) works to challenge existing barriers between peoples of different beliefs, abilities, ages, races, orientations and communities in Grey and Bruce counties and to celebrate diversity with events such as the annual One World Festival held in downtown Owen Sound each May (greybruceoneworldfestival.org).

To mark this fall's exciting launch of Welcoming Communities Grey Bruce (welcominggreybruce.ca)  — Pathways to Employment for Visible Newcomer Women in Grey Bruce, the ICC is proud to host a one-day workshop for our community called the Us & Them Workshop. We are pleased to have funding support from Canadian Heritage.

We are inviting diverse community leaders, employers and service providers for this important day of learning and sharing. We will unpack the us-versus-them narrative that separates people according to our differences, and forms the basis of systemic barriers to full inclusion. We will explore new personal and community strategies that support inclusive, heart-centred action to build a Grey and Bruce where everybody belongs.
