GoodFoodBoxHanover, Sauble Beach and Kincardine Good Food Box sites are currently looking for volunteer coordinators to take a leadership role supporting the local teams to deliver the Good Food Box. The volunteer site coordinators act as a local contact, organize orders, and work with volunteers to pack boxes on pick-up day. The position requires about 15 hours every month and is ideally shared between several volunteers.

Orders for the Hanover, Kincardine, and Sauble boxes are currently continuing but may be put on hold if a new coordinator is not found.  Packing days occur on the third Tuesday of the month at the Sauble and Kincardine sites and on the third Thursday of the month in Hanover. Contact Laura Needham if you are interested in becoming a volunteer site coordinator.

“The Good Food Box depends on volunteers in order to be affordable and sustainable. They are invaluable to the growth and success of the program” says Public Health Dietitian Laura Needham, who works with the program. “This is something you can volunteer for with a friend or by yourself.”

The Good Food Box is a volunteer powered, community based program to improve access to quality food by making fresh produce available at a low cost. There are 19 Good Food Box sites across Grey Bruce. Visit Good Food Box for more information and locations.
