Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker is making business owners in a number of local communities aware of the opportunity to submit an application to become a new LCBO Convenience Outlet.

The LCBO recently announced it has launched a new Request For Proposal for applications from businesses interested in becoming a Convenience Outlet.

In Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, 20 communities have been identified as potential hosts for an outlet. They include: Balmy Beach, Berkeley, Big Bay, Ferndale, Flesherton, Hepworth, Holland Centre, Kemble, Kilsyth, Kimberley, Kiowana Beach, Maxwell, Miller Lake West, Neustadt, Oliphant, Park Head, Priceville, Shallow Lake, Stokes Bay and Walters Falls. Across Ontario, 300 communities have been identified as potential outlet hosts.

The LCBO recently announced the Holstein General Store in Holstein and By the Bay in Pike Bay have been fully authorized to become outlets.

The RFP process closes on Tuesday, October 8 at 2 p.m. RFP information can be found here. There is no fee to apply and successful applicants are expected to begin sales by the end of 2019.

“Our government is committed to delivering more choice and convenience to individuals and families,” said Walker. “This is another example of our government’s Open for Business, Open for Jobs approach that is creating economic opportunities for small business across Ontario.”
