oppb-graphic-fullCHATSWORTH - On Saturday, December 27, 2014 at approximately 10:41 a.m., Grey County OPP received a report of a break-in to a residence on Grey Road 3 in the Township of Chatsworth.

Sometime between 11:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26th, and 8:00 a.m. on December 27th, unknown person(s) entered an insecure residence on Grey Road 3 while the occupants were asleep.

An HP laptop computer, serial number 5CD3114YGZ valued at $1100, was taken. Two ladies purses, a tan coloured "Rossetti" handbag and a royal blue "Roxy" handbag, containing health cards, SIN cards, credit cards, car keys, cash and other miscellaneous items were also stolen.

Residents are reminded to always lock the doors to their homes and their vehicles.
Citizen alerts police to drunk driver

MEAFORD - On Sunday, December 28, 2014 at approximately 5:54 p.m., a concerned citizen alerted a Grey County OPP officer of an impaired driver.

The officer stopped the suspect before she was able to drive away in her vehicle, a 2011 Nissan, which was parked on Sykes Street South in the Municipality of Meaford. The driver, who had been drinking alcohol, was arrested.

A 65-year-old Meaford resident was charged with Care or Control While Impaired by Alcohol and Care or Control Over 80 mgs.

She is to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, January 22, 2015.
