Grey County Ontario Provincial Police has received several reports of vehicle entries overnight which should serve as a reminder to residents to lock their vehicles and to keep valuables out of plain view.

Sometime overnight on February 14, 2018, a credit card and some change was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked on Centre Street in the Township of Southgate. When the victim contacted the credit company she was advised that the credit card had been used at a business in Mount Forest.

A total of five unlocked vehicles were entered overnight on February 15th throughout the village of Chatsworth. Stolen property included a women's purse containing identification, credit cards, etc., cigarettes, a pocket knife and a quantity of change.

Thefts from vehicles is an ongoing crime which directly impacts victims. This type of crime is not new but it's very often preventable. Please ensure your vehicle is locked and all valuables are placed out of sight.
