opp-crash-fullOfficers from the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police detachment continue to investigate a single motor vehicle crash that took place last night west of Walkerton.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. South Bruce OPP, Bruce County Paramedic Services and personnel from the Walkerton Fire Department responded to a call of a Pontiac sedan that had entered into the ditch and became fully engulfed by fire on Bruce Road 20, just north of Highway 9 in Brockton.

Upon arrival the lone occupant/driver of the vehicle was found by first responders lying near his vehicle with vital signs absent. Immediate lifesaving measures were provided however the male was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Patrick Goode, 52 years of age from Powassan, ON.

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for today's date.

Investigators from the West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours last night and early this morning. The roadway has since re-opened.
