On April 18, 2018 at 5:07 p.m. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a male in mental distress driving his pick-up in the area of McCullough Lake, outside of Williamsford.

At 6:03 p.m. police located the male driving and attempted to engage with him but he failed to stop for police. The male continued to drive around the area of McCullough Lake dangerously evading police efforts to stop the truck.

The male driver was successfully stopped by police a short time later and taken into custody. He was transport to hospital for a mental assessment. OPP members from all three areas, Grey County, Bruce Peninsula and South Bruce detachments assisted in apprehending the male.

The male is facing the following charges at an audio bail hearing before Ontario Court of Justice this morning:

Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Fail to stop for Police
