OS-Policesept-fullRoad rage incident leads to charges for 2 area men.

On June 17th, 2018 shortly after 10 pm, Owen Sound Police Service received a call regarding 2 vehicles travelling east bound on the Sun Set Strip driving erratically. The caller stayed on the line and provided details of the incident and direction of travel of the vehicles involved to police dispatch.

The caller reported the vehicles running red lights and being involved in a minor collision with one another while inside the City limits. Police were able to catch up with the involved vehilces in the area of Concession Road 10 and Story Book Park Road, south east of the City limits.

One driver involved in this incident, a 55 year old Owen Sound man, failed a road side screening device test and was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. Witnesses to this incident provided statements and video evidence which supported the additional charges of impaired driving and stunt driving. The male was transported to Owen Sound Police Service and provided samples of his breath to a qualified breath technician. The results of the breath tests registered more than twice the legal limit. The male's drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days. The male will be in court in early July to answer to the charges.

The second driver, a 19 year old Owen Sound area man, was charged with stunt driving. This male's drivers licence was suspended for 7 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days. The 19 year old male will be in court to answer to his charge later next month.
