On July 2, 2018 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police attended a residence on Highway 10 in the Township of Chatsworth in response to a report of an unresponsive male.

Upon arrival, the officer found the male without vital signs and began to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The male remained unresponsive at which time the officer administered Naloxone. The male began to breath but remained unconscious.

Grey County Paramedic Services (EMS) attended and transported the male to the hospital. While at the hospital the male regained consciousness. The 40-year old victim from the Township of Chatsworth is expected to make a full recovery.

Naloxone can help temporarily reverse an opioid overdose. OPP officers are equipped with a Naloxone kit and are trained to use it in an emergency.
